The Construction Science Department, within the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning (CACP), located in downtown San Antonio, one of America’s oldest and most vibrant urban environments where design, construction, and research find unique topics of inquiry,  is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor position.

Responsibilities for the position include developing and teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, conducting scholarly research such as, but not limited to, peer-reviewed publications and externally funded research projects, and making service contributions within the University, College, and Department as well as construction industry and profession. Candidates should have a clear research agenda/strategy and be motivated to pursue external funding, be prepared to develop professional opportunities for students, and to participate in the further development of the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Construction or a related field (Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Built Environment, etc.) If ABD, must complete all requirements for the degree upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach, and experience or research in two of the following areas: Building Information Modeling (BIM), information technology applications in construction management, and simulation and modeling, or other project management or pre-construction related skills.
