Please find enclosed the first call for papers for the 5th International Conference on Competitions on the Conditions for Architect-Client Interactions – 13-15 February 2014 in Delft, the Netherlands.
The international conference on competitions is a regular meeting of an interdisciplinary research network (e.g. architecture, urban planning, sociology, management) focusing on competitions in the built environment as a common scientific object and specific field of knowledge. After successful events in 2008 (Stockholm), 2010 (Copenhagen) and 2012 (Montreal and Helsinki), the 5th international conference on competitions in the built environment takes place 13-15 February 2014 in the Netherlands. It will be hosted by Delft University of Technology in Delft.
During this conference international scholars present and discuss contemporary research on architectural and urban competitions. The theme of this conference is ‘Conditions for Architect-Client Interactions’ which allows for a broad range of topics related to the aim, structure and impact of competitions. There will be also room for discussions about contemporary practice and future research initiatives.
Deadline for the submission of extended abstracts (between 1.500 and 3.000 words) is 1 June 2013. See the attached Call for Papers for more information.
