The Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC) invites nominations for open positions on the ARCC Board of Directors. ARCC seeks engaged scholars, educators, and research leaders committed to advancing architectural research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research-informed education in architecture and related disciplines.
Serving on the ARCC Board provides an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the organization, support emerging and established researchers, strengthen collaborations across institutions, and advance the role of research in the built environment disciplines.
Open Positions
- President-Elect / Vice President
- Three (3) At-Large Board Members
Term of Service
All board positions carry a two-year term beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2028.
The President-Elect / Vice President position follows a six-year leadership sequence consisting of:
- Two years as Vice President / President-Elect
- Two years as President
- Two years as Past President
Eligibility
Nominees must:
- Be a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member.
- Be affiliated with an ARCC member institution in good standing
- Be actively engaged in research in architecture or a related design discipline, broadly defined
Self-nominations are welcome.
Board Responsibilities and Expectations
ARCC Board members contribute to the governance, strategic planning, and ongoing activities of the organization. Responsibilities may include:
- Participating in monthly board meetings and organizational initiatives
- Supporting ARCC conferences, publications, and research activities
- Serving on committees or special initiatives
- Actively engaged in Annual Conference activities by reviewing papers and abstracts, as well as other activities assigned by the board
- Assisting in the advancement of ARCC’s mission and long-term goals

Nomination Materials

- Brief biography (maximum 100 words)
- Statement of interest (maximum 300 words) describing interest in serving on the ARCC Board, relevant experience, and aspirations for the organization
- Headshot photograph

Election Process
All nomination materials will be posted on the ARCC website following the close of nominations. Elections will be conducted electronically, with one vote allocated to each ARCC member institution.

- NOMINATION DEADLINE by July 15, 2026
- ELECTION PERIOD OPENS on August 15, 2026
- ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED in September 2026
- BOARD TERMS BEGIN in October 1, 2026
