Get ready for the International VELUX Award 2020!
Calling all architecture students! It is time to start thinking about your daylight projects, because the International VELUX Award 2020 is launching for the 9th time with the theme “light of tomorrow”.
The biennial award challenges students to explore how daylight influences architecture by thinking outside of the box. The award also challenges students to use sunlight and daylight as main sources of energy and illumination and to ensure health and well-being of the people who live and work in buildings.
A jury of internationally renowned architect will review all submitted projects and select 10 regional winners. The regional winners will then be invited to present their projects in front of a jury at the World Architecture Festival 2020. Following the presentations, two global winners will be selected.
The award is open for all students of architecture – either in teams or as individuals – who are enrolled in a course at university level in 2019/2020.
The International VELUX Award wants to acknowledge not only the students but their teachers as well. Therefore, each team must have a teacher supporting their project, and supporting teachers of the winning projects are also awarded. The total prize money for the award is up to €30,000.
Registration for the International VELUX Award 2020 opens in September 2019.
