

Assistant Professor in Architectural Science (Tenure Track)
Position Description
The Department of Architectural Science (DAS) in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2026.
Located in downtown Toronto, DAS is the only school in Canada that integrates studies in Architecture, Building Science, and Project Management. The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, scholarly research or creative (SRC) activity, and service.
Teaching Focus: Primary focus on design studio and other courses aligned with SRC expertise.
Research/Expertise Focus: Candidates must have expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Housing innovation
- Adaptive reuse
- Building science
- Construction technology
- Sustainability, decarbonization, and life cycle assessment
- Emerging materials, innovation, and fabrication
Required Qualifications
- An accredited architecture degree.
- Professional architectural experience.
- A record of established or emerging scholarly research and creative (SRC) activity.
- Evidence of ability to pursue an externally funded research program that produces cutting-edge results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional licensure.
- PhD or an advanced degree in a related area.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in design studio.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in one of the specific expertise areas listed above.
- Demonstrated experience with professional or community stakeholders in the AEC industry.
