Edward Steinfeld, ArchD, is a registered architect and gerontologist with special interests in universal design, accessibility, and design for the lifespan. At SUNY/Buffalo, he is a Distinguished SUNY Professor of Architecture and Director of the IDeA Center (see http://idea.ap.buffalo.edu ). He is Co-Director of a federally funded center of excellence on universal design and the built environment and another on accessible public transportation. Dr. Steinfeld is internationally known for his research and publications. He has travelled widely to lecture in many countries and is a frequent consultant to government agencies, building developers and attorneys, and has experience in architectural practice as well.
