ASSOCIATE DEAN AND ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM DIRECTOR POSITIONS AT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY

Students’ work: Fourth-year Integrated Design Studio

The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University invites applications for two positions:

A tenured Associate Dean at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate will serve as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and on the College Executive Committee. This position requires a collaborative visionary leader to harness the College’s potential for growth of its existing programs and lead in developing new programs and initiatives. They will be responsible for shared administrative oversight of the College’s programs, curriculum, advising, recruitment, and internal and external assessment, focusing on graduate programs and education. They will assist with accreditation for professional degrees, facilitate faculty research initiatives, and represent the College as an active participant on appropriate University committees. In addition to the administrative duties, the candidate will teach in their area of expertise at 25% load.

Program Director for its Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S.) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programs starting July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will help formulate and implement an ambitious vision for 21st-century global architectural education through creative collaboration with faculty and as an integral member of the CAED’s leadership team. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective academic leadership and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with exceptional teaching in architecture and research/creative work.
